Pilot Training
|
 |
A career is not just a career, when you are a pilot, it becomes an integral part
of your life, shapes your personality, changes your outlook brings along a glitzy
new life style. After All not every office located at 35,000 feet above ground level
and not e3very job brings perks like hip hopping around the world living in the
lap of luxury. Having limited working hours and at the end of it all taking home
a very heavy packet. From the time Orville Wright flew his first biplane glider,
exposed to the elements and wind to the present days time of the non stop 16 hour
flying machines like the boeing777s and A 380s, the Aviation industry has always
been on the cutting edge of technological invention and in the last one year. India
and china has fueled growth in this industry, as they spear head a boom that has
never been witnessed this side of pacific. as more and more flights cross the Indian
skies and more new Airlines launch operations, the job of a pilot has become one
of the most coveted one in this continent. For Indian, what started as a one-man
passion decades ago, when JRD Tata flew the country’s first historic flight is today
a dream shared by hundreds of young men/women as the industry has opened up like
never before making it easy to be a glam jet setter.

By the time you retire which is at the age of 65,unlike most profession where one
retires earlier they would be a citizen of world, knowing international cities like
the back of their hand and looking forward to a financially secure, retired life.
With perks, of course. Nevertheless, a pilot job is a demanding one, as you are
the captain of the craft and the safety and security or about 150-250 passengers
in your hands.

Job Opportunities:
India has never in its history orders for so many aircraft, as it has now. Last
year, the country airlines, charter operators and private individuals ordered a
total of five hundred new aircraft, which will be delivered in phase in the next
few year. Each cockpit needs a commander and a co-pilot and for every aircraft the
airlines need a minimum of eight such sets of pilots (there are time limitations
on the number of hours a pilot can be allowed to fly) for effective aircraft utilization.
In short, there is in urgent needs for at least 8000 pilots.
To add to that there is a present shortage of more than 100 pilots. India presently
has more than 300 foreign pilots due to shortage of home-grown pilots but airlines
give first preference to Indian pilots as they do not have to be paid the extra
compensation cost paid to the foreign pilots for staying away from his home/family
apart from airlines, demand for pilots is high in charter industry, order for more
then 100 aircrafts have been placed this year by co-corporate, privet individual
etc.as a result salary given by some corporate have more that quadrupled, with a
few companies paying their pilots an annual package of rupees 1.5 crore.charter
sector is poised for a phenomenal growth in the coming years, with even airlines
like kingfisher and paramount planning to start international charter operations
in the coming years.
